Speed reading makes time to pause for thought, allowing more effective consideration of information. Speed reading also gives more opportunities for adding techniques to aid comprehension. Reading for information in general, including reading at speed reading rates, should include time to pause and consolidate understanding. Speed reading therefore has as much relevance to comprehension as it has to saving time.
